New Fish Tank

Starting a new fish tank, this time a marine one. Thought I'd add pictures and chart the progress here. Tank's already been in a week, so here's some pictures from Sunday 26th April 2009 to start it off.


First thing to do, put the tank on it's stand and put it in to a position I'm happy with. Bit hard to move it once it's full of water, sand and rocks. Also the fish might get upset.


Put in the sand. Corel gravel actually in this case. Since the rock will hopefully be covered in living things, not really much need to add even more with live sand. Eventually stuff from the rocks will start living in the gravel anyway.


Start filling it up with RO water from the fish shop. Not good to use tap water as it's full of things that fish don't like and are likely to kill off all the good stuff on the live rock.


Add the salt and let the water warm up thanks to the heater in the back. The pumps can do the mixing, so need need to even get wet hands.
